Logo for Loki beer from Croglin BreweryThe Nine Standards Brewery was a small 2.5 barrel brewery located in the basement of the Croglin Castle Hotel in Kirkby Stephen. Initially the brewery was installed by Graham Moss under different management as the Croglin Brewery, but responsibility was passed over to Ian and Rob, managers of the Croglin Castle in August 2011.

The beer is now believed to be brewed under licence by the Settle Brewing Company.

Nine Standards Main beers:

Original Standard (3.7%) : The brewery's inaugural brew, this is a classically dark amber beer.

Gold Standard (4.2%) : An easy drinking Golden Ale

Silver Standard (4.3%) : A beer that was created to celebrate the anniversary of the Kirkby Stephen Silver Band, it is a classically pale ale with a subtle palate combining citrusy aromas with an earthy bitterness.

Double Standard (4.7%) : A flavourful and robust porter. With a contrast of black and cream, it is a mixture of rich coffee and smooth caramel flavours, with smoky undertones.

Royal Standard (5.5%) : Introduced to coincide with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, this beer is coronet gold in colour and is crafted from a blend of five English hops.
