Welcome to the official home page of the Westmorland Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale.

In this obviously difficult time, CAMRA has started a campaign called Pulling Together, to encourage pubs, brewers and cider makers to come up with innovative ways to keep their business afloat during this crisis – whether that be launching a new online shop, offering beer or cider takeaways or providing redeemable gift vouchers for locals. More details on the news page, and at https://camra.org.uk/pullingtogether/.

CAMRA Westmorland represents CAMRA across the south eastern third of Cumbria leading local campaigns to save our real ale pubs, clubs and breweries, and campaigning for a fair deal for real ale drinkers.

Run by a committee of volunteers, we meet on a monthly basis in pubs around the Branch area to discuss local and national matters as well as general Branch business. These meetings are open to all CAMRA members. We also hold regular social gatherings where members can get together without the formal business of the monthly meeting.

We were also responsible for organising the annual CAMRA Westmorland Beer Festival. This was usually held in November in Kendal Town Hall and showcased over 50 real ales from both local and national brewers along with a number of real ciders and perries. However, the festival is currently in abeyance, mainly due to lack of volunteers. More information on the Beer Festival can be found on our Westmorland Beer Festival page.

More information on the Branch, committee and our activities can be found here on our website, with the menu on the left.
