Grade 2 listed, 16th century white washed inn opposite the Cladbeck river. Open plan bars and real fire welcome visitors to fine dining and three real ales from either North Yorkshire, Cumbria or Northumbria. 7 miles from J38 of the M6 the village is in a conservation area of the lower Eden valley. The pub has a landscaped beer garden alongside the river, where red squirrels can be spotted.
